OUR AIMS AT JUMP NI PARKOUR

Jump NI aims to promote Parkour in Ireland, run events and create a community for local Irish traceurs of all abilities, from beginners to those that have been practicing for years.

Jump NI doesn’t just want to promote Parkour in Ireland, we want to help with the development of young traceurs by providing training through classes, workshops, Parkour clubs and one to one tuition.

WHAT IS PARKOUR?

The activity or sport of moving rapidly through an area, typically in an urban environment, negotiating obstacles by running, jumping, and climbing.

Parkour is about training for movement, with the aim of getting from A to B in the most efficient way possible. Parkour can include obstacle courses, running, climbing, swinging, mantling, vaulting, jumping, rolling, and the like, depending on what movement is deemed most suitable for a given situation.

The beauty of Parkour as an activity is that it can be practiced alone or with others, it can be practiced in any location, but usually it is practiced in urban spaces.Parkour involves seeing one’s environment in a new way, and imagining the potentialities for navigating it by movement around, across, through, over and under its features
